The above quotes are things I heard a lot growing up in the late '00s to early '10s. A special breed of classic rock loving, incurious kid would say these two phrases (often word for word) so often that it seemed like a truism. Naturally, this posed a conundrum for my younger self: I liked rap! My older brother was crazy about it, and I looked up to him. And not only that, I liked country, too, since John Denver was the soundtrack for all car trips longer than an hour. So I waited until the era came when... I dunno, people around me stopped acting like John Lennon and Mick Jagger were the best thing to ever grace music.
This mixtape is a work-in-progress. I'll add and remove tracks every now and then; the concept is that it'll be heavier on rap and country than other genres, though, bookending the playlist. The middle is the Wild West. I might add a category that's just national anthems I like. I might make a category that's just Whitehouse. Who knows? I don't! At the moment, the middle's mostly filler.
